Sukhumvit Soi 2: getting there and what is close

Short answer Take the BTS to Phloen Chit, leave by exit 3, and walk about 5 minutes to the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 2. The soi then runs south for 630 metres, which takes about 11 minutes to walk from end to end.

Getting there

Phloen Chit is the closest station to the corner. It is on the BTS Sukhumvit line. The Sukhumvit station on the MRT Blue line is further away, about 18 minutes on foot from exit 2, so the BTS is the simpler choice on foot.

If you are coming from the airports, the trains are the main route. From Suvarnabhumi, take the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai, change to the BTS Sukhumvit line and ride to Phloen Chit. That is 11 stops with one change. From Don Mueang, the route has 18 stops and two changes, using the SRT Dark Red line, the MRT Blue line and the BTS.

Walking it

Walk times in this guide are straight-line distances multiplied by 1.3, at 75 metres a minute. Real streets may be longer, so allow a little extra time. Ploenchit Center and Nana Square are both malls about 2 minutes' walk along the soi. Kalwit, a museum, is about 12 minutes away.
